In Benevento, the Carabinieri arrested a 65-year-old man who had already been subject to a Sannio court order prohibiting him from approaching the victim within 500 meters and requiring him to wear an electronic bracelet.
Late yesterday morning at the operations centre of the Company Benevento the alarm came from the device, which reported the presence of the stalker in the vicinity of the place where the woman was, who, at the same time, noticed the presence of the 65-year-old and contacted 112.
The dispatch of the patrol to the scene allowed the officers to reassure the woman and secure her safety. According to what she told the Carabinieri, the man was lurking suspiciously a few dozen meters from her workplace. Frightened, she took refuge in her car to call the Carabinieri, but shortly thereafter found him standing right in front of her, a short distance away.
Realizing he had been noticed, the 65-year-old attempted to escape but was tracked down and stopped by the military of the Operational and Radiomobile Nucleus and the military of the Benevento Station. The man was arrested in flagrante and, by order of the Benevento Prosecutor's Office, placed under house arrest.
