Cardito – The Carabinieri of the Radiomobile Section of the Caivano Company put an end to a daring robbery that took place yesterday afternoon in a telephone shop on Via Donadio 3, arresting a couple already known to the police.
The two, identified as Emiliano Cirella and Halyna Lytvynska, both homeless, were stopped after a risky but decisive fight.
The story began when the two criminals, armed with a pistol with a silencer, burst into the store, threatening the employees and ordering them to hand over money and goods.

The soldiers, arriving on site, broke into the shop and, with the collaboration of the employees, managed to neutralize the two thieves after a short but intense clash.
During the operation, the weapon used by the criminals was seized: a blank-firing pistol caliber 8, model 92 FS, home-made modified and made potentially lethal. The weapon, with a round in the chamber, was immediately secured.
Cirella and Lytvynska were transferred to prison, where they will remain awaiting trial. The episode has brought attention to the dangers of modified weapons and the need for tighter controls on these devices, often used for illicit purposes. Meanwhile, the community of Cardito expresses relief for the timely intervention of the police, which avoided more serious consequences.
