Moments of high tension were experienced this morning in Piazza Garibaldi, near the Caserta train station, when a 63-year-old woman of Ukrainian origin was stopped by the State Police for unjustified possession of weapons.

The alarm was raised after numerous reports from citizens who had noticed the woman handling a kitchen knife in public. The Flying Squad intervened quickly, managing to locate and approach the 63-year-old.

The officers proceeded to disarm the woman, who was then accompanied to the police station for further investigations.

At the end of the checks, the woman was reported at liberty for the accusation of unjustified possession of weapons. In addition, the procedure for issuing the Urban Daspo was started, a provision that prohibits access to specific areas of the city to those who compromise public safety and decorum.

The situation, which caused considerable apprehension among those present, was quickly managed by the police, restoring calm in the area.
