Caserta. Convinced he was Harry Potter, the famous wizard from the film series, a 30-year-old man spread panic at home and in the streets, completely losing touch with reality. After causing havoc in his family, he went out into the street screaming and trying to imitate the character, miming spells as if he had a magic wand.
The surreal scene did not go unnoticed: numerous passers-by witnessed the man who seemed to be living in a personal version of Hogwarts. His agitation, combined with his robust build, required the intervention of at least three people to restrain him and put an end to the situation.
The police, carabinieri, municipal police, an ambulance and a medical car arrived on the scene. Once rendered harmless, the young man was handed over to the paramedics, who transported him to a facility in Aversa for urgent medical treatment.
The episode inevitably affected the family members, who found themselves facing a situation as complex as it is delicate.
