Yesterday morning, in Castel Volturno, the Carabinieri stopped a 53-year-old Neapolitan who, under the guise of a courier, had already collected two large packages containing food, purchased online on a well-known e-commerce platform.
Immediate investigations revealed that the man had managed to access the sales platform using credentials that were not his and a credit card activated with false identification data. This allowed him to obtain the information necessary to identify and intercept the shipments of his interest.
During the personal and home search, the Carabinieri found in the possession of the 53-year-old various compromising documents: copies of identity documents belonging to third parties, credit cards and login credentials to emails and e-commerce sites of other unaware victims. All the material found was seized.
After the formal procedures, the man was reported at liberty. He will have to answer for several crimes, including impersonation, aggravated fraud, improper use and falsification of payment instruments other than cash.

It's really strange how people can fool e-commerce platforms with fake documents. I hope the authorities pay more attention to these situations to protect honest users who buy online without problems.
