The Coast Guard of Pozzuoli, coordinated by the Public Prosecutor's Office of Santa Maria Capua Vetere, has carried out a preventive seizure of 25 properties located in Bagnara, in the municipality of Castel Volturno .
The buildings, part of a complex of works that has profoundly transformed the urban layout of the territory, were built starting from the 70s in the absence of the necessary landscape and building permits, in violation of anti-seismic regulations and without any concession title for the occupation of state-owned land.
The Coast Guard has identified the owners of the properties, who have been accused of arbitrary construction of the buildings. The precautionary seizure order was validated last January 27 by the GIP of the Court of Santa Maria Capua Vetere.
The seized area, of approximately 500.000 square meters, will be returned to public use. Today's operation is in continuity with a previous emergency preventive seizure, carried out in August 2024 in an illegally urbanized area with 45 housing units, some of which were occupied by individuals believed to be close to the Belforte Camorra clan of Marcianise.

It is important that the authorities enforce the laws regarding the construction of the buildings, but I wonder if there was a real check before allowing such abuses. The situation is complex.
