25 years after the death of Frank Troiano, an unforgettable promoter and creator of the memorable concert season in the Metelli city in the 80s and 90s, the City of Cava de' Tirreni pays homage to his memory by dedicating a double dedication to him.

"I think I can say that my father was a champion, one of those people who have something more and who manage to achieve what seems impossible to others. On behalf of myself and my family, and I feel I can speak on behalf of the entire city, we welcome with great pride this naming of the square and the avenue that will give the direction to the future Palaeventi" comments Alfonso Troiano, AD of 60's productions.
Frank Troiano born to parents from Cava on January 10, 1949In the 80s and 90s, he achieved what would be pure utopia today: turning Cava de'Tirreni, a small provincial town, into a capital of live music. During his career as a promoter, he organized concerts by the biggest names in international and national music: Pink Floyd, Paul McCartney, Dire Straits, Simple Minds, Prince, Elton John, Eric Clapton, Guns N' Roses, Sting, Tina Turner, The Cure, Deep Purple, The Clash, Duran Duran, Spandau Ballet, Vasco Rossi, Claudio Baglioni, and Pino Daniele, to name a few. Besides founding Gipsy, one of the first nightclubs in Metelli, which gave rise to the legendary 60s cooperative, formed by a group of young people born in that decade, he also left his mark on Cava de'Tirreni through his sporting achievements. Always a fan of the local team, of which he was also a goalkeeper, he contributed to the promotion of the Aquilotti to Serie B and then became President of Cavese Calcio from 1996 to 1999.
His passing on April 29, 1999 left an unfillable void.. Thanks to him, the City of Cava de' Tirreni will always be remembered for that extraordinary season of concerts that made the generations of Cava residents who experienced it proud, as well as the subsequent ones who grew up in the "echo" of those memorable events.
