The Guardia di Finanza of Reggio Calabria, together with the personnel of the Customs and Monopolies Agency (ADM), seized a large shipment of 110 kilograms of pure cocaine at the Port of Gioia Tauro.
Identifying suspicious cargo
The military located a suspicious container loaded with paper reels, coming from North America and headed to Italy. Inside this container was discovered the considerable quantity of cocaine, which was seized.
Implications for Organized Crime
The operation dealt a severe blow to the criminal organizations that would have benefited from the drug, which, once placed on the market, could have generated an income of around 20 million euros for the recipient organizations.
