La settima edizione di Sensuability & Comics ha esteso la scadenza per la partecipazione fino al 27 gennaio 2025. Si tratta di una significativa opportunità per artisti e disegnatori che desiderano contribuire a questa manifestazione, che si propone di sfidare i pregiudizi legati alla sessualità e alla disabilità attraverso l’arte del fumetto e l’illustrazione.
Theme and Objectives
The contest, organized by the Social Promotion Association “Nessunotocchimario” with the support of COMICON, is open to emerging cartoonists and illustrators aged 16 and up. This year's goal revolves around the reinterpretation of literary characters and stories in a sensual and ironic way, celebrating the beauty and uniqueness of bodies beyond common stereotypes. Inspirational works include classics such as “Wuthering Heights” and “Madame Bovary,” while also approaching modern texts that explore the relationship between disability and sexuality.
Jury and Exhibition
A jury composed of industry experts, including well-known writers and illustrators, will be responsible for evaluating the works submitted. The best will be exhibited in Rome from February 14 to March 14, 2025. This year's poster, created by Kutoshi Kimino of the Sputnik collective, innovatively reinterprets a scene from Dante's Inferno.
Awards and Participation
Participation in the competition is free and open to both digital and paper works, which must be sent to concorso@sensuability.it by the deadline. The prizes up for grabs include a scholarship, a graphics tablet and two tickets to COMICON 2025. For the first time, special mentions will be awarded that include additional prizes, such as subscriptions to the “ARF! Il festival del Fumetto” in Rome.
