Latina – Three years of imprisonment and a fine of 16 thousand euros: this is the sentence pronounced by the sole judge Enrica Villani of the Court of Latina against Angelo Bardellino, 53 years old, nephew of Antonio Bardellino, founder of the Casalesi clan.

The man was found guilty of violating the provisions imposed by the anti-mafia code. According to the prosecution, Bardellino, son of Ernesto (former mayor of San Cipriano d'Aversa), allegedly purchased a Toyota Aygo for a value of 2015 euros in 12.300, violating the provisions of the special surveillance to which he was subjected.

The measure, intended for individuals deemed “socially dangerous,” requires that any purchase exceeding 10 euros be communicated in advance to the Financial Police Unit of the Guardia di Finanza. In this case, such communication never occurred.

The Prosecutor's Office had requested a two-year prison sentence, but the Court decided for a more severe penalty. Angelo Bardellino, an entrepreneur active in various sectors, including entertainment, lives in Formia, where his father Ernesto and other family members also live.

The name of Bardellino he is not new to the judicial chronicles. In the past, he was convicted of complicity in extortion in a case related to the management of cooperatives that operated for the Municipality of Formia in the early 2000s. His figure is today considered among the most relevant in the succession of family power, which since the 90s has progressively moved from Caserta to Lazio.
