The family's desperate screams attracted the attention of the neighbors, who witnessed the man fleeing. Feeling hunted, he decided to escape by jumping from the balcony to escape capture. A first off-duty police officer intervened on the scene and attempted to stop and disarm the intruder. Shortly after, a second officer arrived, who works in the Siderno Highway Patrol but is attached to Naples, and together they managed to stop and handcuff the criminal.

Both police officers are originally from Crispano and played a crucial role in the arrest of the subject, a Moroccan citizen with a criminal record.

The criminal was taken to prison and will have to answer for robbery, resisting a public official and illegal possession of a weapon.

Reactions from residents

The community of Crispano said it was very shocked by the incident and expressed concern, highlighting the need to increase security in the area. However, residents also praised the timely intervention of the police: "The two off-duty officers are two boys from Crispano, they did nothing strange, they did their duty, but many times the sense of duty is lacking. They honored the uniform and made us proud as citizens of Crispano", Pierluigi said in a post on the Facebook group Sei di Crispano senza Censura.

Yes, I agree with you, safety must be a priority. These things should not happen, especially in a community like ours where we all know each other.

The Crispano episode scared everyone, no one expects a thief to come home. I hope that the police can do more for people's safety. It's important to feel safe.
