AstraDoc: The Journey into Real Cinema returns in 2025 with a new edition at the Cinema Academy Astra in Naples. The event, organized by Arci Movie in collaboration with Parallelo 41 Produzioni, Coinor, and the Federico II University, is sponsored by the City of Naples. The inauguration of the fifteenth edition is scheduled for Friday, January 10th at 20:30 PM and will continue until April 11th.
On the occasion of the opening night, the Neapolitan preview of the documentary “Si dice di me” by Isabella Mari will be presented, focusing on the story of Marina Rippa and her women's theatre laboratory.
Opening event
The evening will be introduced by the curator of AstraDoc, Antonio Borrelli, and by the President of Arci Movie, Roberto D'Avascio. The director Isabella Mari, the producers Antonella Di Nocera and Claudia Carfora, together with Marina Rippa and other protagonists of the documentary will speak. Professor Annamaria Sapienza of the University of Salerno will also be present and will talk with the guests present. This event in the city represents an opportunity for sharing for all the participants of the theater workshop.
Documentary successes
Produced by Parallelo 41 with the support of Fpl. femminile plurale, “Si dice di me” made its debut at the 19th Rome Film Festival in the FreeStyle section, winning the Spazio Campania “Chiara Rigione” Award at the 49th Laceno d'Oro Festival. It was also presented at other festivals such as the Matera Film Festival, the Carbonia Film Festival and the XLII Primo Piano Festival Pianeta Donna in Perugia. The documentary examines the impact of art on the construction of personal identity, with the theater becoming a space of expression and liberation for the women involved, helping them to rewrite their stories in a safe and shared environment.
It's interesting that the documentary deals with women's stories, but I wonder if there will be other types of stories presented during the festival. I hope there will be more diverse and varied documentaries.
