Naples – A 12-year-old was admitted to the Santobono hospital in Naples yesterday following a violent attack in the Barra neighborhood, on the outskirts of the city.
According to initial reports, the boy was attacked by a group of minors armed with clubs and bars outside his girlfriend's house.
The police are investigating to identify those responsible for the attack. The news was announced by the deputy of Alleanza Verdi e Sinistra Francesco Emilio Borrelli, who updated on the young man's conditions: after a CT scan of the skull, the 12-year-old was discharged from the hospital. He suffered a fracture to the third metacarpal of the left hand, immobilized by the doctors, in addition to deep cuts to the head, promptly stitched.
“Baby gang violence has long been out of control,” commented Borrelli, “and this latest cowardly and criminal attack on a 12-year-old demonstrates the dangerousness of unscrupulous young delinquents, ready to hurt or set up ambushes for trivial reasons”.
The episode puts the spotlight back on the phenomenon of baby gang, increasingly widespread and violent in some areas of the city, raising concerns among residents and local institutions.
