Two earthquakes in Irpinia: fear among the population

Two earthquakes, of magnitude 2,6 and 2,8 respectively, occurred in Montecalvo Irpino, in the province of Avellino, this evening.

The National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology reported that the strongest shock occurred at 19:49 p.m., followed by the second at 20:15 p.m. The seismic events were felt by residents of the area, but at the moment no damage to people or things has been reported.

The Civil Protection has started the checks on the orders of the municipal administration. Many comments on social media from people who clearly felt the two tremors.
