Ariano Irpino - The wild boar emergency continues to dominate Ariano Irpino, with new complications and inconveniences for the community.

After the incident that saw a woman fall to the ground while trying to protect her dog from an encounter with a boar, and with the lawn of the municipal villa reduced to unrecognisable conditions due to animal incursions, the local authorities are looking for definitive solutions.

This morning, a new approach to the matter is expected from the ASL (Local Health Authority), CRIUV (National Animal Welfare Office), the regional hunting office, and the Municipal Police, with the aim of resolving the situation in everyone's best interests. Mayor Enrico Franza met with the Avellino Police Commissioner and the ASL Veterinary Service, assuring them that the municipal administration had not failed to act.

The solution identified is to capture the wild boar using telenarcosis, a painless and non-violent technique that allows the animal to be put to sleep remotely. During the operation, the entire municipal park must be closed to the public for safety reasons, considering the animal's possible reactions even under sedation.

Previous capture attempts, using a cage placed in the lower part of the villa, were unsuccessful. The wild boar managed to evade the trap, partly due to the lack of cooperation from residents, who repeatedly tampered with the cage and failed to comply with the park closure order.

The municipal administration is also evaluating a third solution to prevent wild animals from entering the villa: the construction of a low fence, blending in with the greenery, starting from the end of the wall on Viale Tigli, on the away side of the Silvio Renzulli stadium, and continuing along the embankment to the main entrance.

The situation is complex and requires the cooperation of all citizens to be resolved as effectively as possible. The primary objective is to ensure the safety of people and animals while preserving the ecosystem of the municipal park.
