Ercolano, jewels worth 60 thousand euros stolen: two women arrested

A movie-like heist, but the Carabinieri of Ercolano were not fooled: 3 women, expert scammers with a long criminal record behind them, ended up in handcuffs after having pulled off a daring robbery in a jewelry store in the city.

The episode dates back to last August, when the criminals, disguised and with the air of demanding customers, infiltrated the shop. With skillful dexterity, while one distracted the jeweler, the others took possession of a precious loot: a roll of gold bracelets worth a whopping 60 thousand euros.

The investigations, conducted by the Carabinieri of the Ercolano branch, were long and meticulous. Thanks to the analysis of the images from the security cameras inside and outside the jewelry store, the military were able to identify the three people responsible for the theft.

Thus emerged a gang of professional criminals, already known to the police for having committed numerous similar robberies in various Italian cities.

Two arrests and a fugitive

The handcuffs were snapped on in recent days. Two of the three women were arrested: one was taken to prison, while the other was placed under house arrest. The third accomplice, however, is still wanted and the police are on her trail.
