SCAFATI - A 42-year-old man escaped house arrest and was caught riding a stolen scooter in the center of Scafati, in the province of Salerno, where he was arrested by the Carabinieri for evading arrest and resisting arrest.
The 42-year-old, already subjected to the restrictive measure, was intercepted by the military of the Lieutenancy of Scafati while wandering around the city center on a scooter. At the sight of the police, he tried to flee but was stopped after a short chase. He was immediately declared under arrest and searched: the Carabinieri found in his possession several doses of crack and several dozen euros in cash, presumably the proceeds of drug dealing.
Further investigations revealed that the scooter, which was found stolen in Salerno, had been stolen in the previous days. In addition to being arrested, the man was reported for possession of drugs for the purpose of dealing and receiving stolen goods. The 42-year-old is now awaiting the celebration of the summary trial.
