Supermarket thefts: on the evening of January 14, 2025, the Carabinieri of the Paupisi Station, with the support of the Operational and Radiomobile Unit of the Benevento Company, arrested three women of Romanian origin, resident in Naples.

As part of the same investigation, three other people were reported. The intervention was started in the afternoon thanks to the report of the owner of a supermarket in Torrecuso. Suspicious of the behavior of three women and a man, already known for previous thefts, the supermarket staff alerted the Carabinieri, also providing details on the license plate of the car used by the suspects and the direction of escape.

Thanks to a search plan coordinated by the Operations Center of the Benevento Company and with the help of a patrol of the Maddaloni Company, the vehicle was intercepted on the SS 372 and stopped in the Valle di Maddaloni area. Five people were traveling on board the vehicle, all of Romanian origin and residents of Naples. During the search of the vehicle, the military found stolen goods worth more than 1.000 euros, including food and personal hygiene products.

Surveillance cameras of a supermarket Montesarchio they immortalized the three women while they were taking the goods from the shelves. The stolen goods were partially returned to their rightful owners, while the rest was seized pending further checks on their origin. The three arrested women were placed under house arrest in Naples by order of the Public Prosecutor's Office of Benevento. The other two passengers in the vehicle, a man and a woman, were reported at large for aggravated theft.

The investigation will continue to clarify the origin of the seized goods and verify any connections with other thefts that have occurred in the area. The people involved are currently under investigation and, as required by law, must be considered innocent until a final sentence is handed down.
