Last night the San Prisco diocesan museum was violated Nocera Inferiore. The alarm was raised this morning. The director of the museum, Salvatore Alfano, filed a complaint with the Carabinieri station of Nocera Inferiore belonging to the territorial unit commanded by Lieutenant Colonel Gianfranco Albanese.
Investigators have already started scientific surveys to try to identify those responsible for the night raid. At the moment the exact quantification of the damage suffered is still in progress.
The Bitterness of the Bishop and the Faithful
Il theft has hit the local community hard, depriving it of precious votive objects and materials of historical and religious value kept in the display cases of the three museum rooms. The bishop of the Diocese, Monsignor Giuseppe Giudice, expressed deep regret for what happened in a note, underlining the serious consequences of the theft.
“We express great sorrow for this violation that damages the entire community, undermining it at its roots, as a deposit of history and memory, of faith and devotion that has grown over the centuries has been plundered.
