A difficult defeat to digest for Gian Piero Gasperini's Atalanta, who lost to Napoli in a hard-fought match full of key episodes: at the end of the match, the Nerazzurri coach analyzed the result to Sky Sport microphones.
“It’s a difficult defeat to digest. We were unlucky, it’s not a great moment in this respect. We’ve recently faced the best teams in the league, but I think we’re doing well on all fronts. Today we didn’t get anything, but we played with great quality against a strong team like Napoli,” Gasperini declared.
The coach underlined how the incidents did not favour his team: “In terms of incidents, this match didn’t go well for us. However, when you come out of performances of this level, you start again even stronger. We don’t have time to regret it, we have to think about our path and continue working as we are doing.”
Despite the negative result, Gasperini invited his players to focus on their next commitments: "Let's start from here, with the awareness that these performances will allow us to grow. Napoli is a top-level team, and comparing ourselves with them gives us important ideas to improve."
