Bribes for managing the waste management contract in the province of Naples: two precautionary measures, including the mayor and former mayor of Giugliano in Campania. This morning, personnel from the Carabinieri Group in Castello di Cisterna issued two precautionary measures (one prohibiting residence in the Municipality of Naples and the other suspending them from holding public office).
Provisions issued by the Court of Naples North at the request of the Aversa Public Prosecutor's Office led by the prosecutor Maria Antonietta Troncone, respectively against Luigi Grimaldi, former Councillor for the Environment of the Municipality of Giugliano in Campania today Municipal Councilor at the Municipality of Naples and Councilor of the Metropolitan City – and of Domenico Abbatiello, a municipal employee of Marano di Napoli whose duties at the time of the events were that of supervisor.
The crimes contested are bid rigging and corruption in relation to tenders in the context of the assignment of the integrated waste collection service. The investigating judge of the Naples North court rejected the requests for house arrest advanced by the Prosecutor's Office for the mayor of Giugliano, Nicola Pirozzi, and for his predecessor Antonio Poziello, who are also under investigation.
