Giugliano – The signal from a GPS installed on a stolen car led the Carabinieri of the mobile radio section to Giugliano to a clandestine workshop on Via San Francesco in Patria.
The report came directly from the owner of the vehicle, who noticed the anomaly and alerted 112. When they arrived on site, the military discovered the car already partially dismantled and three men busy dismantling it to obtain spare parts.
At the sight of the police, the three attempted to escape into the surrounding countryside. Two of them, aged 30 and 20 respectively, were stopped and arrested on charges of money laundering, while the third managed to escape and is currently wanted.
The makeshift workshop has been seized and all the automotive components found will be checked for any other cases of money laundering. The recovered car will be returned to its rightful owner.
