The mayor of Castellammare, Luigi Vicinanza, met this morning with the prefect of Naples Michele di Bari on the sidelines of the ceremony dedicated to the Day of Remembrance at the Teatro San Carlo in Naples.
During the meeting, a note from the Municipality of explains Castellammare of Stabia, "the prefect assured the police of the utmost commitment to identifying those responsible for the violent incidents that occurred last night at the Circumvesuviana station on Via Nocera and to preventing similar events from recurring."
Vicinanza stated: "We continue our collaborative efforts with the institutions to ensure legality and security are guaranteed throughout the city. With Prefect Di Bari, we noted how the establishment of the 'red zone' in Stabia's nightlife areas has already produced significant results in terms of territorial control.

This is an effective tool, which must be accompanied by further strengthening law enforcement presence throughout the area. Those who choose violence must be held accountable for their actions. Castellammare di Stabia is and will remain a city of good people: it is not violence, it is not vandalism, it is not hatred.
Meanwhile, the trade unions Filt-Cgil, Fit-Cisl, Uiltrasporti, Ugl, Faisa Cisal and Conf.AIL have called a four-hour strike for tomorrow.
The strike is motivated by "serious incidents that threaten the safety and well-being of workers." The strike will run from 8:20 a.m. to 12:20 p.m. and will affect all EAV network services.
