Taking place at the Teatro Civico 14 in Caserta on January 18 and 19, 2025, “Nabil’s Journey” brings a narrative of hope and humanity to the stage.
The theatrical performance is directed by Stefano Amatucci with the adaptation by Fabio Pisano, and is based on the poem by Daniele Virgillito.
The show
The work follows the adventures of Nabil, a young Egyptian student, who embarks on a journey on a clandestine boat to Sicily. His mission is to find Yara, a Syrian girl who fled to Italy with her family. This journey turns out to be a dramatic experience where each passenger brings a story of escape and hope. Actors Lorenzo Sarcinelli, Gianluca Pugliese, Vladimir Randazzo and Antonio Ciorfito bring the characters to life, accompanied by music by Vito Ranucci.
The Narration
The theatrical performance is characterized by its ability to intertwine the drama of the migratory journey with a powerful scenic rendering. The protagonists on the boat, including Alif, a young Senegalese, and Bashir, a Pakistani boy, face common challenges, seeking a better future. Nabil's encounter with these people of different origins creates a mosaic of stories that are linked to universal themes of struggle and survival.
