NAPLES – The Integrity Tour 2024/2025 , an initiative now in its tenth edition and promoted by Lega Serie A, Sportradar and the Institute for Sports and Cultural Credit , stopped in Naples .
The project, created to strengthen the culture of legality in the world of football and spread the true values of sport, involved players, coaches, and managers of SSC Napoli . The meeting with the first team took place on Wednesday, January 29th at the Napoli Training Center , while the youth sector will participate in a dedicated meeting on Tuesday, February 4th. The goal is to raise awareness among athletes, from the youngest to the most experienced, about the seriousness of match fixing , a phenomenon that threatens the integrity of sporting competitions.
During the workshop, Marcello Presilla , Head of Integrity for Italy at Sportradar AG , explained the risks and consequences of match fixing, explaining how so-called "fixers" approach footballers, often through social networks and new technologies , jeopardizing their careers and the credibility of the football system. Particular attention was also given to betting regulations and the proper use of social media by players.
Napoli captain Giovanni Di Lorenzo emphasized the importance of the initiative: "This year too, we enthusiastically supported the workshop on the integrity of the game and the fight against match fixing. Raising awareness among footballers about the scourge of betting is essential to combating sports fraud. Fairness must be the starting point of every professional activity, and in football we must all fight together to achieve this goal . "
The Integrity Tour initiative is very important for football, but I think there are still many challenges to be faced. Young players need to be educated about the risks of match fixing, but technology can also complicate the situation. It is essential to continue doing these workshops.
