ISPANI – A targeted operation against building abuses along the Cilento coast has led to the seizure of 550 square meters of public land in locality Capitello, in the Municipality of Ispani. The intervention was carried out by the military of the Maritime District Office of Palinuro, led by Lieutenant Samantha Losito, with the support of the Municipal Technical Office.
The controls, included in a plan of protection of maritime state property, revealed the construction and earthmoving works carried out using mechanical means, a few metres from the sea. The works, carried out without the necessary authorisations, violated the relevant regulations urban planning, landscape and state property, requiring the immediate intervention of the competent authorities.

The affected area has been placed under criminal seizure, while investigations continue to ascertain further responsibilities. The Coast Guard has underlined the importance of maintaining high attention on the protection of the coastal territory, continuing to operate both on a preventive and repressive level, through constant inspection activity.
It should be noted that the precautionary measure was adopted within the framework of the preliminary investigations, on the base of provisional charges. Any criminal liability will be ascertained only at the end of the judicial proceedings, with a final sentence. The operation represents a further sign of the determination with which the police and the judiciary intend to defend the landscape and environmental heritage of the Cilento, combating building abuses and protecting the maritime state property.
