The Cumana railway line, interrupted between Bagnoli and Torregaveta, will be reactivated by the end of the month, with the temporary exclusion of the Pozzuoli station. This announcement was made by the Ente Autonomo Volturno (EAV) following a meeting this morning with the mayors of Pozzuoli, Bacoli, and Monte di Procida.

Work on the new railway line, including a new tunnel, is proceeding at a steady pace and will be completed in the next 15 days. Eav therefore believes it is “likely” that the railway connection between Montesanto and Torregaveta will be operational again by the end of the month.

The old Pozzuoli station will not be included in the new route due to structural criticalities, probably related to seismic movements. The new station, currently under construction, will be ready within four months. In the meantime, from the time of the reopening of the line until April, trains will not stop in Pozzuoli.

To limit the inconvenience, the replacement bus services within the Municipality of Pozzuoli will be strengthened, including connections with the lower area, until the new station of the Cumana will not be fully operational.

It's a nice statement, but there are many doubts about this situation. The Pozzuoli station is important and its exclusion seems to me a strange choice. Let's hope that the work ends on time and that the inconvenience is limited.
