The exhibition “Painting on stage. Homage to Mario Persico” has been extended until Sunday 2 February 2025 at the Museo-FRaC in Baronissi. The event is curated by Massimo Bignardi, in collaboration with Annalisa Mazzola and Pio Manzo. The central point of the exhibition is the work “Tavola ludogeometrica” by Mario Persico, donated to the museum by the artist's wife and daughter after his death in March 2022.
Works exhibited
The exhibition offers the public a variety of works donated in the last two years by artists such as Mario Carotenuto, Angelomichele Risi, Rino Sorrentino alias Rinedda, Sergio Spataro and Nicolas Tolosa. The Galleria dei Frati presents additional paintings, enriching a collection that the Museo-FRaC has built over the course of more than twenty years. Among the artists exhibited are Lucio Afeltra, Raffaele Bova, Angelo Casciello and other exponents of the Campania art scene.
The homage of Baronissi
The mayor of Baronissi, Anna Petta, highlighted the importance of “Painting on stage. Homage to Mario Persico” in enhancing part of the Museo-FRaC collection. The event does not limit itself to celebrating the artist, but also represents a sign of the city's commitment to contemporary art, with particular attention to artists from the regional territory.
