The famous theatre of theOpera of Rome was the protagonist of an extraordinary celebration in honor of the 125th anniversary of Giacomo Puccini's masterpiece, "Tosca". On the podium, for this prestigious production, the conductor Francesco Ivan Ciampa, originally from Avellino, made his debut.

For the repeat performances on January 17 and 19, the main role is entrusted to Anastasia Bartoli, accompanied by Vincenzo Costanzo and Daniel Luis de Vicente.
A production woven with Campanian talent
The production boasts a significant participation of artists from Campania, characterized by a deep regional imprint. Francesco Ivan Ciampa, in addition to being at his first appearance on the podium of the Costanzi, is already known for his direction appreciated in other prestigious venues. At his side, Maestro Ciro Visco leads the choir, composed partly of singers from Campania, including Salvatore Minopoli, Achille Del Giudice, Emily Santo, and others.

“Tosca” continues to be a landmark opera for its intertwining of passions, politics and power. The drama, set in late 19th-century Rome, explores current issues through characters such as Baron Scarpia, emblematic of power and corruption. Anastasia Bartoli plays the role of Tosca, a character who dominates the scene with her strong and complex presence. Despite the turbulent relationships and suffering, the opera culminates in a powerful representation of the tensions between faith, power and love.

The article is interesting but there are some things that I didn't understand very well. The choice of artists from Campania is nice, but I don't know if their experience is sufficient for such an important production. I wonder if the actors have done adequate rehearsals.
