The local police officers of Arzano had been on his trail for several days and had also launched a search through the police force's database since he had been reported to be on board a stolen car.

The man, a 50-year-old PD, from Secondigliano and with various crimes including extortion, robbery, illegal possession of weapons, was noticed by the officers next to the vehicle and in the company of other people with legal problems.
When asked for documents, he first refused and then began to rage against the municipal police officers, threatening them and reporting: “You don't know who I am, I'll show you with my friends from Secondigliano!”
Seeing themselves now cornered, to escape control he began to inflict wounds on his face simulating an assault but was immediately proven wrong thanks to the promptness of the videos taken.
Another patrol was called for help and colleagues including the commander and the colonel rushed to the scene. Biagio Chiariello, who when asked to provide documents, in response the man boasted of having a criminal record.
He also didn't have a driving license.
During the arrest and the attempt to block him, the commander suffered a wound to his hand and for this reason he was assisted by medical personnel and treated, suffering injuries that will heal in a few days.
After yet another refusal, he was stopped and taken to the police station in his car: the man also turned out not to have a driving license.
The vehicle was seized and with it the goods he had illegally in the car for the illegal sale. He was also notified of administrative sanctions for amounts equal to 5000 euros.
The magistrate ordered the arrest of the 50-year-old on charges of resisting a public official, refusal to provide personal information, driving without a license, threats and receiving stolen goods.
