The Lega Serie A Assembly, which met today, completed the elections for the renewal of institutional positions. Luigi De Siervo was confirmed as CEO with 17 votes, exceeding the necessary quorum of 11 by six preferences. For De Siervo, in office since 2018, this is the third consecutive mandate.
In addition to the reappointment of the CEO, other key roles have also been defined. Independent League Councillor: Lamberto Tacoli. League Councillors representing the Companies: Claudio Fenucci (replacing Maurizio Setti), Tommaso Giulini, Luca Percassi, Paolo Scaroni. Board of Auditors: President: Maurizio Dallocchio; Effective Members: Enrico Calabretta, Mario Tardini; Alternate Members: Enrico Negretti, Giacinto Sarubbi.
During his first press conference, the president of the League Serie A, Ezio Maria Simonelli, expressed satisfaction with the completion of the governance. "I am happy that the CEO has received broad consensus, which testifies to the work done so far and represents an incentive to continue. The League has changed skin, transforming itself into a mini media company with great technical and professional capabilities," Simonelli declared.
The president also wanted to put an end to the controversy surrounding his election, which was initially contested by some companies: “My candidacy had been tainted by a non-existent procedure. The court confirmed that everything was done according to the law. Today there was a positive atmosphere and my speech was appreciated. I hope we will be able to represent Italian football in a positive way towards the government and the institutions.”
Simonelli stressed the need for unity within the League, reiterating his commitment to representing all 20 clubs: “I will be the president of everyone, even those who didn’t vote for me. I perceived a very united climate and I didn’t hear any hostile voices. President Lotito also showed himself available today, expressing his willingness to contribute to a process of reconciliation.”
