Lisette Oropesa at the Teatro San Carlo with Ravel and Verdi. The Teatro San Carlo in Naples will host American soprano Lisette Oropesa for a highly anticipated concert of the 2024-25 season. The event is scheduled for tomorrow at 7:00 PM and will feature Oropesa accompanied on piano by Alessandro Pratico.
The program includes works by famous French and Italian composers, including Maurice Ravel, Leo De'libes, Jules Massenet, Georges Bizet, Gioachino Rossini, Saverio Mercadante and Giuseppe Verdi.
The Repertoire and the Artists
The concert program opens with pieces by Ravel, such as “Chanson Espagnole” from “Chants Populaires” and “Vocalise E’tude en forme de Habanera”, followed by “Les filles de Cadix” by De’libes. The audience will also be able to hear Massenet with “Chanson andalouse” and “A Se’ville, belles Senoras”, and pieces by Bizet such as “Oeuvre ton cœur” and “Adieux de l’hotesse arabe”. From Italy, Rossini’s bolero “L’ospite”, part of “Soire’es musicales”, will be a highlight, along with the romances “La stella” and “La primavera” by Mercadante.
The evening will culminate with chamber arias by Verdi: “E' la vita un mar d'affanni”, “Stornello”, “Chi i bei di' m'adduce ancora” and “Perduta ho la pace”. The closing will be entrusted to the bolero “Merci, jeunes amies” from “Les vepres siciliennes”.
