Chiaia, an elegant neighborhood in Naples, has become a theater of violence: an argument between neighbors has degenerated into a brutal attack. A group of people, after a heated argument, went back into the house and then returned armed with clubs and bars, hitting some residents. Among the attackers, there was also a minor already known for vandalism.
The images recorded by video surveillance cameras, which took place precisely in Vico Vasto a Chiaia, documented the scene. Residents reported the incident to the deputy of the Green-Sinister Alliance, Francesco Emilio Borrelli, who commented: "A very serious episode that happened a few steps away from the heart of wealthy Naples. We cannot tolerate that sub-Camorra violence also involves minors".
The videos were forwarded to the police to identify the attackers, while the intervention of the Social Services was requested to involve the young man. "It is clear that our territory is experiencing an unprecedented violent and criminal drift. A decisive intervention is needed: new rules, streets patrolled 24 hours a day and zero tolerance" added Borrelli.
The episode has caused dismay among citizens, who are calling for an immediate strengthening of security measures to restore serenity to the streets of the neighborhood.
