A tragedy has shocked the community of Battipaglia. Marianna Pisciotta, 36, a teacher and former speech therapist, was found dead with a gunshot wound to the heart in a friend's home in Carbonara di Nola, last January 7. According to an initial reconstruction by investigators, it was a suicide.
Marianna, originally from Marigliano but resident for about seven years in Viale Monsignor Vicinanza in Battipaglia, had spent the night in the house of a friend, a 43-year-old physical education teacher. It was he, at first light in the morning, who discovered the woman's lifeless body and immediately called the 118 paramedics. When they arrived on site, the doctors could do nothing but confirm her death and alert the Carabinieri, who informed the magistrate on duty at the Nola Prosecutor's Office.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the gun with which the woman allegedly took her life was legally owned by the man. To clarify the dynamics of the facts, the public prosecutor ordered the Stub, an examination to verify possible traces of gunpowder on the hands of both those present: the victim and the owner of the weapon.
In the meantime, the teacher has been entered in the register of suspects with the accusation of manslaughter for failure to store the weapon. The house has been seized, while the autopsy on Marianna's body will try to provide further elements useful to the investigation.
A dramatic story that leaves the woman's friends and family in grief, while investigators continue to investigate to clarify all the details of this tragic death.
