The Career of Matrioska
Formed in Milan in 1996, Matrioska established themselves on the Italian music scene with an eclectic sound blending ska, pop, punk, and rock. Their first hit, 1999's "Passi se è la pratica," cemented their presence thanks to unique melodies and lyrics by Antonio Di Rocco. Subsequent albums, including "Stralunatica" and "La domenica mattina," marked a sonic evolution for the band, which continued to grow artistically with releases such as "La prima volta" and "Cemento." Known for their intense live performances and collaborations, Matrioska have graced major stages, appearing at the Tora Tora Festival and collaborating with illustrious figures such as Dario Fo. Their tenure with Maninalto! Records has led to new releases such as "Occhi Mossi" and the recent single "Profumo."
Adapting During Adversity
In 2020, in response to the lockdown, Matrioska released "Specchio," demonstrating their ability to innovate even in challenging times. In 2022, they expanded their discography with the EP "Lo fanno," maintaining their strong position in the Italian independent music scene. "Goccia di tonica" therefore represents another step in this ongoing artistic evolution.

I listened to the new Matrioska single and I have to say it seems a bit different from their previous works. Even though there are many influences, I don't know if I can connect well with their current style.
