The association “Nessuno tocchi Ippocrate” has denounced the serious situation, calling it a “scandal” and calling for immediate intervention.

Not only this elderly woman, but also another patient has been stuck in an ambulance inside the same health facility in Salerno since Monday. The director of the hospital confirmed the incident 118 of Salerno, Domenico Violante, who defined the situation as “unacceptable” and has already written to the management of the ASL to ask for a rapid resolution.

Serious shortages of ambulances

The problem seems to be the lack of stretchers inside the emergency room, which forces them to keep those from ambulances. “The 118 stretchers are not suitable for long hospital stays,” explains Violante, underlining the risks to the health of patients, especially those who are bedridden.

The situation has a negative impact not only on patients, but also on ambulance crews, who remain stranded and unable to respond to other emergencies. “It is a very stressful situation for operators,” Violante emphasizes.

The association “Nessuno tocchi Ippocrate” has launched an appeal for action to be taken as soon as possible to resolve this serious criticality and guarantee adequate assistance to patients.
