Death after cosmetic surgery: audio presented to the Prosecutor's Office

NAPLES – New developments in the investigation into the death of Immaculate Florentine, the 45-year-old who died on Epiphany day at the clinic White di arcade, after having undergone surgery gastric banding al New Polyclinic of Naples.

The audio also reveals inconsistencies regarding the surgical procedure. While the doctors reported that the operation had been interrupted for a cardiac arrest due to a pulmonary embolism, the day before an aunt of the woman had been told that thethe operation had been successfully completed. However, the nurse states with certainty in the audio: “It's not true, the operation has not been concluded”.

The Calvary of Immacolata Fiorentino

According to the complaint filed by the family, Fiorentino had been operated on November 22 at the New Polyclinic, but during the operation he had serious complications, ending up in coma for 22 days. Upon awakening, after the critical phase, she was transferred to the ward sub-intensive therapy, where it remained until 3st January, when she was transferred to the Bianchi clinic for rehabilitation.

Solo three days later, 6st January, died, leaving her family shocked, convinced that she was already in the recovery phase. The family filed a complaint on 7st January, leading to the opening of a file for manslaughter by the Naples Prosecutor's Office. The investigation will now try to clarify any medical responsibilities and the real causes of the 45-year-old's death.
