Castellammare. Chaos afternoon on Via Panoramica, near the Medieval Castle, where traffic was paralyzed by an unusual obstacle: stray cows. It was neither an accident nor roadworks, but the presence of free animals that invaded the roadway, causing no small amount of inconvenience to motorists.
This is not the first time this has happened. For months, in fact, cows, calves, donkeys and sometimes even horses have been roaming freely through the woods of Quisisana, Madonna della Libera and via Quisisana, without any control.
The situation, it seems, is well known to the competent authorities, but so far no measures have been taken to resolve the problem. Despite the chaos and difficulties encountered, this time too no accidents or damage to people or things have been reported. However, the constant presence of disoriented animals on the roads continues to represent a safety risk and a source of inconvenience for the community.
Residents and motorists are calling for urgent action to put an end to a situation that, over time, could have more serious consequences.
