This morning at the “Toti-Borsi-Giurleo” Comprehensive Institute in via Cupa San Pietro, 40, Ponticelli, the mural, created by the artist Alex Shot, for Holy Roman.
The 19-year-old was shot dead in San Sebastiano al Vesuvio last November following an argument over a stepped on shoe,
A rainbow and a red heart, with the words “Santo vive”, to represent a message of hope and justice. The initiative was promoted by the Municipality and the anti-racket association.
“We need to make a clear distinction between victims and executioners in this society where too often criminals are defended, honored and even praised. From today, Santo’s heart must beat, everywhere, it must be the symbol of the new resistance to crime and delinquency.
Despite the biting wind and the cold this morning many people came to pay homage to Santo who represents redemption, the people who rebel against the culture of crime and violence" - these are the words of the Green-Sinistra alliance deputy Francesco Emilio Borrelli who attended the inauguration together with Anna Ferrara of the anti-racket association, the president of the Municipality Sandro Fucito and the school principal Chiara Schiavo.
"Today we have a small reason to finally smile a little. This heart beats to give hope to young people and their families" - commented Mrs. Mena, Santo's mother, who together with the victim's girlfriend approved the mural project.
