Naples – Yesterday, in the Piazza Garibaldi area, law enforcement arrested a 37-year-old man for attempted aggravated robbery and resisting a public official.
The man, of Tunisian origin, has a criminal record police for similar crimes.
Robbery and Assault The episode occurred when the agents of the General Prevention Office, engaged in a territorial control service, were approached by some passers-by.
They pointed out an individual armed with scissors who was walking away quickly towards Via Firenze. The officers were able to quickly reach, block and disarm the man.
Subsequent investigations revealed that the man had entered a minimarket on Corso Novara shortly before. Inside the store, he had threatened the owner with scissors, trying to obtain the proceeds. However, the shopkeeper managed to get out and scare off the attacker. The arrest ended with the transfer of the suspect to the competent judicial authorities.
