Two thousand five hundred years of history for Naples will be celebrated in 2025, a year full of events that will accompany the city towards the symbolic date of its foundation, December 21. According to the forecasts of the Scientific Observatory, in 2025 the arrival of 17 million tourists is expected, a figure that highlights how Naples is increasingly becoming a destination of national and international appeal.
Article Key Points
A series of celebratory events
For this anniversary, a committee is working to plan a cultural event that will include shows, conferences, concerts and debates in collaboration with universities, museums, foundations and local associations. The committee, composed of strategic members including Mayor Gaetano Manfredi and other representatives of the sector, aims to “celebrate the history, culture and art of the city and its contribution to the development of the historical and artistic heritage of the nation”.
Improved infrastructure and reception
To accommodate the increase in visitors, Naples plans to expand tourist services, with the creation of three new eco-sustainable information points and the installation of self-cleaning bathrooms. In addition, the headquarters of the celebrations will be the Real Albergo dei Poor, symbol of a project of cultural recovery and transformation.
The 2500th anniversary logo
An important distinctive element will be the logo dedicated to the anniversary, selected from 263 graphic proposals. The winning project, created by Rita Rosaria Zunno, represents an act of valorization of local talent and the ability of Naples to attract young creatives.
The celebrations will also involve important institutions such as the Mann, the National Archaeological Museum, and the Rai production center in Naples, which will document the highlights of this special year for the city.
