The former mayor of Naples, d, ended up in the crosshairs of the Court of Auditors' Office for alleged financial damage of over 11 million euros.
Along with him, 22 other people, including directors and managers, received a notice of default.
The accusations
Investigators suspect the missing funds are the result of irregular financial transactions carried out in 2019 for CTP Spa, the company that managed public transport in Naples and the province.

Those involved
Among the recipients of the notice, in addition to de Magistris, are the current Secretary General of the Metropolitan City, Antonio Meola, and several mayors of municipalities in the metropolitan area. Several regional councilors are also implicated in the matter.
An enormous overall damage
The investigation, which covers a period longer than 2019 alone, has uncovered total damages estimated at over €85 million. The purpose of the formal notice is to interrupt the statute of limitations and allow the judiciary to further investigate.
