New mobile cameras will soon be active in Naples to combat illegal waste dumping, according to the City Councilor for Urban Hygiene, Vincenzo Santagada.
He announces a series of initiatives to protect the environment and appeals to citizens' civic sense. "The problem of illegal waste disposal is a serious problem, a major critical issue that the Administration," explains Santagada, "has been addressing for several years with financial commitment.
Now, also thanks to the collaboration of the Security Councillor, Of Jesus, which has deployed 12 mobile cameras that can be moved around the area, prevention will certainly be able to yield results".

The cameras will be installed "in critical points that are generally known to the Administration, especially in peripheral areas. Since they are mobile, the cameras can be moved from one location to another as needed."
The 10 workers from Asia, the urban sanitation company, who act as environmental inspectors, will remain active at all times. On Via Mastellone, where a former Roma camp was remediated, nearly €1 million was invested and 90 tons of waste, including asbestos, have been removed so far.
"Certainly," says Santagada, "the cameras will help increase waste sorting. We've reached the 2024 percent goal in 45, but we can only achieve this quantum leap with the full and effective cooperation of citizens."
