Antonio Conte's Napoli continues its unstoppable run and beats Verona with a clear 2-0, maintaining its solid lead in the standings. The Azzurri, with a four-point advantage over Inter (who, however, have two games in hand), conquer their fifteenth victory of the season thanks to an own goal by Montipò in the opening minutes and a goal by Anguissa in the second half.
The game is unlocked immediately: in the 5th minute, an action started by Lukaku, who protects the ball with his back to the goal, ends with a left-footed shot by Di Lorenzo. The ball hits the post and bounces off the back of the goalkeeper Montipò, ending up in the net for 1-0 for Napoli. Napoli is not satisfied and comes close to doubling the score with two dangerous opportunities, first with Anguissa and then with Lukaku, but the aim is not precise.
Verona attempted to respond in the 14th minute, when Tengstedt rose to meet a cross and headed in a near-equalizer. However, Verona struggled to contain the high tempo and constant attacking attacks of Conte 's men . The first half ended with Napoli leading by a goal. In the second half, the Azzurri picked up where they left off, persistently searching for the goal that would seal their victory. The 2-0 lead came in the 61st minute, thanks to a perfect combination initiated by Lukaku and finished by Anguissa with a powerful left-footed shot from distance, which Montipò was powerless to prevent.
The double disadvantage definitively extinguishes Verona, who is unable to react, allowing Napoli to calmly manage the result until the final whistle. Despite the three minutes of recovery, the score does not change. With this victory, Napoli consolidates its leadership in the championship, while Verona remains just above the relegation zone, with only one point ahead of third-last Cagliari.

Napoli played well but I think Verona should have done more to try to recover the score, even though the team is not in great shape. It was a bit of a monotonous match, in my opinion.
