The La Loggetta school complex, which has undergone safety and redevelopment work in recent years, was officially inaugurated this morning in Naples.
The ceremony, which marks the resumption of teaching activities in the facility, was attended by the mayor of Naples Gaetano Manfredi, the councilor for Education and Families Maura Striano, the president of the municipal council Enza Amato, the municipal councilor Walter Savarese d'Atri and the president of the tenth Municipality, Carmine Sangiovanni.
"This school has been completely renovated with a significant investment to offer safe and efficient spaces to children and young people. We are focusing a lot on the quality of school buildings, because education is also built in beautiful, healthy and safe places. The Naples we want starts again from schools," declared Mayor Manfredi during the event.
The intervention on the La Loggetta complex, located in via Ciaravolo 13, cost about four million euros and was made possible thanks to the collaboration between the Municipality, Metropolitan City, Government and Region. Among the new features, the structure was equipped with a modern video surveillance system, desired at the instigation of President Amato.
The premises of the complex will now host the students of the Michelangelo Augusto Comprehensive Institute, who until now attended classes in the complex on via Terracina. The proximity of the two structures has made it possible to avoid inconveniences for families, as underlined by Councilor Striano and the President of the Municipality Sangiovanni. Furthermore, this solution will allow the Municipality to save the cost of renting the structure used until now.
The remaining part of the building, accessible from via Ciaravolo 15/A, will continue to host the school activities of the Minniti Comprehensive Institute.
With this intervention, the Municipality of Naples confirms its commitment to the redevelopment and safety of school buildings, a fundamental piece in building a city that focuses on the future of new generations.
