The Santa Maria Capua Vetere prosecutor's office will schedule an autopsy today for Patrizio Spasiano, a 19-year-old from Secondigliano who died four days ago at the Frigo Casertra factory in Gricignano d'Aversa due to an ammonia leak.

The deputy prosecutor of Naples North, Giuliano Caputo, who is leading the investigation into the young man's death, has managed to identify the legal representative of the Villaricca company where the young man worked and who, together with the owner of the company where the accident occurred, will receive the notice of investigation.

An act necessary at the moment to allow the autopsy to be carried out at the Institute of Forensic Medicine of the II Polyclinic of Naples where the body was transferred on Friday evening.

The young welder, who had been employed as an intern for a few months, was on scaffolding inside a cold storage unit undergoing maintenance when the tragedy occurred.

An avoidable accident?

According to what has emerged so far, Patrizio, despite being an intern, had been assigned to potentially dangerous work. His presence at the scene of the accident, according to his family, would have been in conflict with his work status. The investigation will now have to establish whether safety regulations were violated and whether the young man's death could have been avoided.

An endless pain

Patrizio's family is devastated by the pain. "We have not had a word of comfort from the institutions," said the family's lawyer. "We feel alone and abandoned. We want to know the truth and for responsibilities to be made clear."

The unions' anger and the demand for justice

The Unione Sindacale di Base (UBB) organized a protest in front of the Frigo Caserta plant , denouncing yet another workplace victim. "Patrizio represents the face of a system that fails to protect workers, especially the youngest and most vulnerable," said a union representative. "We demand justice for Patrizio and concrete measures to prevent further tragedies."
