Naples – During the night, unknown assailants broke into the Naples headquarters of "Teniamoci per mano," a clown therapy association, stealing essential equipment for its activities, medical supplies, and even two bronze medals awarded by the President of the Republic.
“A theft that goes beyond the material value,” thunders Rodolfo Matto, president of the association. “It is an attack on hope, on the solidarity that we have built brick by brick.” The association, which operates in difficult neighborhoods like Gianturco, offering support to sick children and their families, feels betrayed.
In the Gianturco neighborhood , we transformed a space in the station into a community and support center. Here, we offered free medical checkups for disadvantaged families, training courses for volunteers, and organized initiatives to improve the quality of life in the community. But today we find ourselves wounded by such a violent and unjust act.
“We worked hard to create a place of aggregation and support,” Matto continues, “and now we find ourselves starting over again.” Activities are suspended for a few weeks, but the call for solidarity is strong. “We need everything: computers, medical supplies, anything that can help us start again.”
The news shocked the community. “A vile and unacceptable act,” commented Severino Nappi, leader of the Lega in the Campania Region. “We express our closeness to the volunteers and ask the police to clarify the situation as soon as possible.”
