It took place at the Court of Napoli, before the preliminary hearing judge (GUP) Dr. De Chiara, the hearing against 36 defendants accused of criminal association for the purpose of drug trafficking.
At the center of the investigation is the De Matteo family, nicknamed "I Sett," with operations rooted in the Caudina and Suessola Valleys.
At today's hearing, the positions of 32 of the 36 defendants were discussed, while two opted for the abbreviated trial, which will be the subject of a subsequent hearing.

Filippo De Matteo is the son of the well-known boss Andrea De Matteo, a leading figure of the Belforte clan, currently detained and sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of Angelo Amoroso.
As for the remaining 32 defendants, the Gup will shortly decide on the possibility of sending them to trial. The defense team includes, among others, lawyers Fabrizio Celai, Pasquale Ceccarelli, Vittorio Fucci, Daniela Martino, Orlando Sgambati, Mauro Iodice, Carlo Perrotta, Daniele Delle Femmine, Igino Nuzzo and Davide Pascarella.
