Marzano di Nola – The Carabinieri of the Nucleus Forest of Marzano di Nola, within the scope of the control activities to combat the illegal management of waste, have reported the owners of two workshops/car washes of the Laurel Valley.
The checks, conducted in collaboration with colleagues from the territorial force, highlighted several irregularities. The activities lacked the necessary environmental authorizations, were not registered with the municipal SUAP and were found to lack the required qualifications for the management of first rain water and for the assessment of acoustic impact.
At the time of the inspection, both companies did not have a suitable company layout for wastewater management and the Waste Identification Forms (FIR) were not exhibited, which are mandatory to certify disposal by authorized companies. Furthermore, the workshop rooms did not have suitable flooring and showed traces of used oil and other polluting substances, which were also found on the external yards.
Following the irregularities discovered, the Carabinieri proceeded to seize the businesses and report the owners to the Public Prosecutor's Office at the Court of Avellino, holding them responsible for violations of the Consolidated Environmental Act.
The checks will continue in the coming days, to protect the environment and the community.
