Santa Maria a Vico - The trial of Emanuele Savino, 27, and Anna Gammella, 19, opened today at the Assize Court of the Tribunal of Santa Maria Capua Vetere.
The two are accused of the aggravated voluntary homicide of their daughter Aurora, which occurred on September 2, 2023 in their home in Mandre.
During the first hearing, the defense raised preliminary objections regarding the alleged vagueness of the charge and the admission of the civil parties.

According to the prosecution, the father violently hit the little girl Aurora in the left fronto-orbital region, causing craniofacial trauma with double bone fracture and a left hemispheric hematoma.
Despite the child's evident suffering, also attributed to multiple abdominal traumas and burns, both parents allegedly failed to provide her with the necessary medical care, thus causing her death from cardiorespiratory failure.
The aggravating circumstance alleged is that the crime was committed against a direct descendant. The investigation into the incident was conducted by the local Carabinieri station.
